about
I first heard Steve Reich's "Electric Counterpoint" while studying at the Paul Green School around the age of 14. It changed my life, and it wasn't long after that that I was sitting in Carnegie Hall with my good friend, guitarist/composer Jake Hager, in a trance, while Steve and his band roared through "Music for 18 Musicians." Since that first exposure to American minimalism, I've been obsessed with strophic art forms and continue to devote a large percentage of my work to exploring the depths of the oldest compositional tool: repetition.
